Sticking with true southern hospitality, I greet you with open arms!
Welcome to the cabin and my blog, Faith Food Family Fun!
I guess I should start off by formally introducing myself.
My name is Erin-Erin (a nick name given to me by my granny) but most people call me Erin, for short. I’m originally from Long Creek, North Carolina, but since no one knows where that is, I usually just say Charlotte.
I’m a perfectionist (almost to a fault), outgoing, generous, playful, and kind. Oh, and I don’t like being mad – like, ever. I married my soulmate Vic 17 years ago and he is by far my biggest fan and supporter (I love you honey!).
And of course I can’t have a proper “about me” page without mentioning my furkids – their names are Ruth, Lily, and Rocket. Here’s a bio within a bio for them:
How it all began:
I started FaithFoodFamilyFun on a whim back in November of 2014 and never in a million years imagined it would grow into the blog that it is today! I’d like to thank my friend Ashley for giving me the nudge to get started and every single person who has stopped by and visited since then.
We recently moved out of the big city to a farm in the country. We bought a hewn log cabin from the 1800’s that was taken from its original location and brought here. It is completely modern with a primitive feel. We live a simplistic lifestyle and avoid “keeping up with the Joneses” at all costs. (I personally could care less what someone else thinks of me.) We don’t spend money just because we want something, only when we need something. Vic and I may not have the fanciest furniture, clothes, or cars but that’s only because we choose to be that way.
Like the bible says:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal – Matthew 6:20
I absolutely love all things organic, fresh, and healthy. I’m also against cruelty of any kind, especially to animals. This is why I look for the leaping bunny symbol when I shop (and I hope you do too!).
I enjoy learning new things and I’ve always said I want to be as smart as my grandparents when I grow up. Because of this, I spend my free time absorbing as much as I can from my surroundings. I love gardening, canning, baking, all things DIY, sewing, and of course, photography.
I’m not perfect and this blog totally reflects that. There’s only one who is perfect and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So with His help, and a lot of time and patience, I will strive to make this blog a fun place for everyone.
