I got SO excited about our vacation that I forgot to post about it! I’ll be back in a week and I’ve got some really neat stuff planned that you won’t want to miss!!
In the meantime, check out this amazing frithia pulchra plant and it’s stunning flowers! The gorgeous purple flowers open and close during the afternoon and after about a week or two, they are totally done until the next year. It’s a semi-rare plant and not often seen in traditional succulent collections (not as much as fenestraria baby toes, that’s for sure).
I rescued this guy and he’s doing so much better than the day I brought him home! At least half of his little leaves were red and he just looked terrible. It’s so good to see a plant make a turn for the better because of a little bit of love on our part.
God is really good at doing this in our lives also!
Psalm 107:19-20 (KJV)
Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Oh, one last thing… have you ever seen a golden bug? I know I sure haven’t until recently. Turns out it’s a real thing and it’s called a golden tortoise beetle (aka Charidotella sexpunctata).
Apparently it likes morning glory vines and that’s exactly where I found it! When I first saw it, the little guy looked like a piece of jewelry – he was THAT golden. If they get irritated (read: don’t want their photo taken) they can change color using the liquid beneath their transparent shell. You can actually see him changing colors here because he was SOLID gold!!
